Prepare Before the Visit

The American Academy of Pediatric DentistryClick to open in new tab recommends that children visit the dentist by their first birthday, or when the first tooth appears. Early visits help establish healthy habits and build comfort with dental care.

You can help make the experience positive by speaking about the visit in a calm and reassuring way. Let your child know the dentist and team are friendly, will explain everything, and will answer questions. The less buildup around the visit, the better.

Please avoid using words that may cause fear, such as “needle,” “shot,” “pull,” “drill,” or “hurt.” We use child-friendly language to describe procedures in a way that feels safe and understandable.

We Start by Building Trust

You are welcome to stay with your child during that first exam. However, during future appointments, we ask that you trust us and allow us to work with your child when you are not present.

Our purpose is to gain your child’s confidence and overcome apprehension. This allows us to build a trusting relationship with your child that will pay off for years to come.

For the safety and privacy of all patients, other children who are not being treated should remain in the reception room with a supervising adult.

Patient Forms

Save time at check-in by completing paperwork ahead of your child’s appointment.

We know that your time is valuable. That’s why we offer a simplified office experience with online patient forms that you can complete prior to your appointment. You’ll spend less time in the waiting area, streamlining your initial visit.

These forms help us better understand your background, allowing us to provide you with the most effective care possible.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about patient forms or your appointment.
